SOPA & PIPA

This could be a VERY unpopular opinion but I kinda don’t mind if the internet gets censored. The only reason I would mind because it definitely hurts our economic growth and millions of jobs. But as for ME, I always tend to look at the positives in every situation. So if the bill does pass..

  • I’m going to buy a bike. I’ve been meaning to save up for one but this just gives me a reason to buy it right away.
  • I’m going to buy a ps3. Same situation with the bike, and I actually enjoy staying in my cave all day playing video games.
  • I’m going to buy a camera. Polaroid, digital, dslr, any! If I can’t use facebook to see captured memories then i’m going to capture them myself.
  • Go to the library and check out some cook books. I want to learn how to cook, ‘cause I fucking love food!
  • Decorate/reorganize my room.
  • Tell my parents to stop paying for the internet
  • Meet up with friends to get an update on their lives, rather than reading them through social websites
  • and the list goes on..

Now I know that all seems kinda corny and it could be done even with the internet uncensored. But seriously think about it, the internet has some magic effect of having our eyes glued to the screen!!! I could stay away from it, but it takes a lot for me to do so. So with it being censored, I would feel more motivated and obligated to do things I listed up there. When things changes, most people would rather run their mouth and complain about it. But in reality, you should find a way to adapt and own it.

I mean I’ll sign the petition, but if the bill passes I’m ready for it haha!

“New year, new start.”

I don’t understand why some people have to wait for the new year to make a new start. Or to make resolutions for the new year. Why wait for the new year when you can start tomorrow, or better yet NOW. You can’t wait for the future to make a change.

But I guess that’s just me.

Mr. Hyunh’s story

“Many years ago i lived in another country, far away. I was a young man with a family, a beautiful baby girl. I call her Mai. I was the luckiest man in the world. At night I used to dream about our future together, to watch Mai grow up and go to school. To see her be happy. But there was trouble in my country. There was a war in the north, and every day the fighting was coming closer and closer. I knew that this would not be a good place for my child to grow up. I could not keep her safe, maybe not even have enough food for her to eat. So I decided we must try to get out. We must try to find a better life. Everyone was trying to get out. Everywhere there was confusion. Somehow, I got through. The only way out of the city was by helicopter. There were too many people. I begged the soliders, Please! Please take us! Help us find a new life! But he could not. He said there was only room for one of us. Then, I had to make the most difficult decision of my life. I knew I had to do the best thing for Mai. I knew that if I gave Mai to the soldiers, they would take care of her. They would find a home for her. And then as soon as I could, I would get out of the country and find her again. As the helicopter left, the soldier called out the name of a city. This city. He said he would bring her here. It took me twenty years until I could finally get out of the country. That’s why I came to this city. I believe she is here somewhere but I have not been able to find her. Sometimes it is so difficult that I almost give up hope. But I never stop thinking about her. I will never stop trying. I would do anything to see her again. To know that she is happy.”

Click to follow this blog, you will be so glad you did!

I remember back in the day when myspace was still popular, every year I would post this episode in my “Who I’d like to meet” section. This is probably one of my favorite cartoon episodes ever!! I miss Hey Arnold!!!
